Toronto welcomes IMMIX, a new 450-unit rental community developed by QuadReal Property Group (“Quadreal”) at the Yonge & College intersection. Located on the historic site of Fire Hall No. 3 (including the restored Clock Tower), the development is no small feat, blending modern living with rich heritage.
The building features a mix of rental residences alongside retail and office components, underscoring QuadReal’s vision of integrated urban communities. The development also honours its local neighbourhood by commissioning a bespoke art-programme curated by Tatar Art Projects, which includes 28 installations from diverse artists such as Ed Pien, Julie Jenkinson and Jade Rude. These artworks reflect both the façade’s Clock Tower history and the area’s LGBTQ2S+ heritage.
IMMIX includes a full amenity lineup: a fitness centre, yoga and cycling studios, a pet-wash station, lounge-style coworking and meeting rooms, plus an outdoor pool and recreation terrace for residents. With transit at its doorstep and the vibrancy of Yonge Street right outside, the building positions itself as a destination for urban-centric living.
As BlogTO notes, this project marks a milestone for QuadReal in its Greater Toronto Area rental-home portfolio — combining architecture, culture and full-service amenities in one downtown address.
