QuadReal Property Group (“QuadReal”) has submitted updated plans for a 45-storey purpose-built rental tower at 214–226 Soudan Avenue and 19–21 Brownlow Avenue, near Mount Pleasant Road in Midtown Toronto, as stated in a recent article by UrbanToronto. The proposal builds on an earlier 21-storey approval, aiming to deliver roughly 527 new rental homes in a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites.
The revised design features a five-storey podium with retail space at street level and residential units above, topped by a slender tower form. It also introduces a publicly accessible open space (POPS) of approximately 4,600 square feet along Soudan Avenue, enhancing pedestrian connectivity and the public realm.
Residents would have access to more than 17,000 square feet of amenities, including indoor and outdoor spaces located on the second, fifth, and rooftop levels. The updates reflect evolving city policies supporting rental housing and respond to current construction and economic conditions.
